FXTM at a glance

FXTM publishes separate pricing information for Advantage and Advantage Plus. Its fee material distinguishes commission-based trading from the spread-based alternative, while its platform resources cover MetaTrader. The relevant entity and account terms should guide your comparison.

Our take

FXTM is a useful comparison when you want to understand the difference between commission-based and spread-based account pricing. Calculate the full cost for your own trade size rather than choosing an account on its name alone.

Keep in mind: An account without a separate trading commission is not cost-free. Spreads, holding costs and any other applicable charges still need to be considered.

FXTM pros and cons

What stands out

  • Distinct fee models make account comparisons more explicit.
  • Published contract specifications help with instrument research.
  • MetaTrader resources provide a familiar platform starting point.

What to weigh up

  • Account pricing needs a complete spread-plus-commission calculation.
  • Instrument terms and platform availability need local verification.
  • The entry deposit is separate from the amount of risk on a trade.

Platforms, apps and trading tools

The best interface for your research is the one you can understand and use consistently. Compare the functions you need on each device, including how to review open positions and change an order.

MetaTrader workflow

Check which MetaTrader version is available for the account you intend to open. Use the correct account server and credentials.

Advantage accounts

Compare Advantage and Advantage Plus using the current fee schedule and your expected trade size.

Contract details

Review contract size, trading hours, margin and swaps for each instrument. Two symbols can have very different specifications.

Demo preparation

Practise reading the order ticket and closing a position. Platform familiarity is useful, but demo outcomes do not predict live results.

Accounts, fees and trading costs

FXTM’s published fee information distinguishes Advantage from Advantage Plus. Compare the combined spread and commission, then add any overnight and non-trading charges that apply to your account.

Cost areaWhat variesWhat to check
AdvantageCommission-based structureRead the current instrument-specific commission and include the spread in the total.
Advantage PlusSpread-based structureCheck the spread and other charges; no separate trading commission does not mean no cost.
Overnight holdingRead specificationsLook up the current long and short swap terms for the instrument.
Other chargesCheck account documentsReview funding, conversion and inactivity provisions for your entity and payment method.

A practical comparison: write down one instrument, a fixed trade size and a holding period. Ask each broker for the applicable spread, commission and swap terms for that scenario. Check currency conversions and non-trading charges separately.

Regulation, country access and risk

A brand name is not the same as the legal entity on your account agreement. Before sending funds, identify the company that would serve you and verify its permissions with the relevant regulator. Do not assume that protection offered by one company in a group applies to every account.

  1. Match the entityRead the legal name on the registration page and client agreement. Check the regulator’s register directly, including the approved website address.
  2. Understand the protectionsCheck how client money is handled, whether any compensation scheme applies, and the rules for complaints and negative balances.
  3. Read the product riskLeverage magnifies both gains and losses. A stop-loss order may execute at a different price during a gap or fast market.

Local account documents take precedence over a general group description. Read the broker’s applicable client agreement and risk disclosures before opening an account.

06 / THE REVIEW

Before you open your FXTM account

  1. Check eligibility and documentsConfirm that residents of your country are accepted. Read the account agreement and find out which identity and address documents are required.
  2. Practise the complete workflowIf a suitable demo is available, practise placing, modifying and closing an order. Check position size and margin before each practice trade.
  3. Review funding and withdrawalsCheck the payment method, account currency, processing rules and any fees. Use only the official broker account area.
  4. Set your own limitsDecide whether the product fits your knowledge and financial circumstances. Do not fund an account with money you cannot afford to lose.

FXTM: common questions

How should I compare Advantage and Advantage Plus?

Compare the same instrument, trade size and holding period. Add spread and any commission, then include overnight charges if relevant. Use FXTM’s current pricing schedule for your legal entity.

Is FXTM available in my country?

Check the broker’s current registration and legal pages for your country of residence. A global website or a review score does not confirm local eligibility or the legal entity that would serve you.

Does visiting through FTB change what I should check?

No. The broker sets the account terms. FTB may receive compensation through affiliate links, so review the official fees, eligibility and risk information before deciding whether to register.

Is a demo account enough to judge a broker?

A demo can help you learn the platform, but it does not establish live execution quality, withdrawal service or future trading results. Treat it as one part of your research.
