A global market across time zones
Forex activity follows financial centres around the world. Traders group the day into Asian, European and North American sessions, but these are practical labels rather than perfectly separated windows. Holidays and daylight-saving changes affect local times.
Session overlaps can be active
When major centres are open together, participation may rise in some pairs. Higher activity does not guarantee a direction or opportunity. Volatility can also rise around announcements, while quieter periods can still produce sharp moves.
Use a calendar with the clock
Before a session, check the economic calendar for scheduled releases and note the time zone. Use the trading sessions guide to orient your schedule. A calendar helps plan attention; it does not forecast prices.
Build a routine that fits your life
Choose a research window you can follow consistently, record what you observe and avoid increasing risk merely because a market is active. Beginners can continue with the FTB learning hub and review our risk-management guide.
